UU Challenge 2011
Over the past year we have organized numerous stunning events and held two world class design competitions with participants from all around the globe including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom & United States. To continue our journey as a platform for creativity we launch our challenge for the year 2011. This year's theme celebrates the diversity of our roots and takes a closer look into your neighborhoods.
The theme for UU Challenge 2011 was "Cities". The task was to capture the vibe and style of your city around the UU logo. Contestants were free to play with the logo as much as they liked as long as it remained recognizable. The best entries will be gathered once again into a beautiful book showcasing the illustration styles and vibes of cities around the world. However this year the top 3 entries will also become a part of our t-shirt line. Mainly this means that entries needed to be on a white background.
1st Prize $2000 went to Mike Campau (Detroit, USA).
2nd Prize $1000 went to Bert van Wijk (Berlin, Germany).
3rd Prize $500 went to Fredy Santiago (Holland, USA).
Honorary Merits went to Valerio Vittozzi (Rome, Italy) and Jamie Menary (Detroit, USA).
